With this renewed energy, larger development team, and larger community, the combined efforts of Struts and WebWork will surely make the Struts platform the easiest, fastest, and most powerful Java web framework available. 唐突で驚いた。WebWorkと言うと、1.x系の頃から使っている馴染み深いフレームワークなのだけど、ポジションはいつもマイナーなところ。下手に大きいコミュニティで、動きにくいのよりは良くて、コミュニティもサイズが好きだった。これからは、Strutsの一部にWebWorkのアイディアが取り込まれて行くことになるのだろうけれど、それが良い形で、良い部分が取り込まれると嬉しい。
ま、正直言うと、WebWorkの今後のメンテナンスは大丈夫なのかは気になるところ。その一方で、ちょっとだけ親鳥の心境だったりするわけで、複雑だ。
